The God Factor
America is facing organized anti-Christian movement, according to the Christian Times.
We feel that in our midst people are afraid of religious services and anything to do with God is often times frown upon. We see it in the schools and even public facilities, where Christians are being pushed around and given limits that are not given to other groups due to the fact that they believe in God. This isn’t something seen against muslims or jewish folks. There seems to be a very specific movement against Christians themselves.
We also see a subtle slumber among Christians, not realizing the fact that this is happening right in our towns. We have seem to be comfortable with not mentioning about our faith to anybody thus disobeying the command from Jesus to “Go into all the world and preach the good news of the gospel to everyone” in Mark 16:15.
Even among our young ones, this has created a sense of intimidation. Laws are being created out of nowhere, and even school officials seem to twist the law and put on restrictions on the rights that students have to share the gospel within the school.
So this creates a sense of tension, and shyness from youth and even young kids to share their faith. My prayer is that we would gain boldness even in this time to share our faith, to not be afraid of getting in trouble. I pray for fearlessness among our organization and all the members involved. One thing I know and a verse that I had in my mind this morning in my time of worship and prayer was Romans 14:11 where it says “It is written: “‘As surely as I live,’ says the Lord, ‘every knee will bow before me; every tongue will acknowledge God.'” — oh and how glorious that day will be. As I was pondering on that verse I was rejoicing in the hope that one day we will freely worship and share this great joy with everyone — no restrictions, no laws, no officials against this great time where we will ALL worship him and bow down to Him.
My prayer is that you long for that day in your heart and that at the same time you don’t get tired of sharing your faith with everyone you know. Don’t be afraid. Our Lord Jesus was stoned, crucified, murdered; and many others suffered for their faith. So how about you? Will you be bold to share your faith even if you get in trouble? I sure hope so.
