A real promise or just nice words?

Jeremiah 29:11 is a verse that I preached about before and it was one of the very first times I felt the Holy Spirit lead me to bring a prophetic word to my church. I still remember the feeling I got because I’m feeling the same exact feeling now.

Its an amazing feeling that I don’t ever want to stop feeling. It’s a feeling of something tugging at your heart and ministering to you deeply and profoundly. This verse reminds me that God had the best for me in store and to not panic because my story is already written. A lot of people quote this verse and really, can you blame them? It’s super popular. Some people have beautiful frames in their homes or bookmarks in their bibles or books, some even go as far as tattooing the verse onto their skin. But see, most people don’t understand that for God to fulfill his promises in your life, YOU NEED TO DO YOUR PART! I feel like most people, don’t get it, and when their promises don’t happen, or take awhile to happen, they get upset and mad at God. But in all honesty, what where you doing to make these promises come alive. You cant keep living in sin, and expect God to bless you. Maybe you even probably don’t think you need God right now because you are living an abundantly life. But Jesus said that it’s easier for a camel to get through an eye of a needle than a rich person to get into heaven. How crazy is that? You want your promises? Drop everything and follow Jesus and as he said “go and sin no more.”

What’s stopping you from seeing God’s promises in your life?

What will you do to make it happen?
