What Is Hope?

Colossians 1:27
For God wanted them to know that the riches and glory of Christ are for you Gentiles, too. And this is the secret: Christ lives in you. This gives you assurance of sharing his glory.

The word of God is the one that gives us light and truth. It takes away the gray areas of our lives.

HOPE.

“I hope that….” that’s something that we say sometimes and it is a saying, that you’re hopeful, or that you see something in a positive light. We desire it, so we say it. But when the word of a God says hope, it indicates security and certainty.

You might ask what is hope. The word of God says that in Christ we are more than conquerors. The word of God also says that he takes us from the dark to the light.

We are expecting. Looking to the future, not knowing yet what it holds for us, but we hope the best from God. We have to be careful with our attitudes and how we reflect little faith.

We are supposed to talk about the hope of God, but sometimes we have to pause and think about certain things. The bible says that the beginning of wisdom is the fear of God. If you search the scriptures, you will enter in the knowledge of God.

Our expectation is based on the book of Acts. What is written in the word of God. 2 Timothy 2:13 says even if we are faithless, he remains faithful— for he cannot deny himself. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. What he has promised you, He will do. Those who trust God will see it come through. He is the same, he will never change. Philippians 1:6 says He will do what he has started; He doesn’t leave anything in half.

There are many people who still don’t know about God, our urgency should be in those people. That they may be saved and that others (and the whole world) may know about Jesus. We have to desire for other people to be saved and stop being so involved in this life and our materials things. There’s nothing better than trusting God. Romans 8:28 says “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.” Romans 12:12 also says “Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.”

If you think negatively, you will also get negativity back. You have to think positively, Philippians 4:13 says “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” We hold on to the hope we have in the word of God. We cannot trust ourselves, we are not fighting with our newborns or coworkers, you have to trust God and be positive and see things as if they are already done. Our hope doesn’t come from knowledge, but from God. He is our hope of life.

1 John 3:3 says ..”and everyone who put hopes in Him purifies himself as He is pure.” God will accomplish His will in me.

Is His hope accomplishing its works in you?

Why is it that when we have problems we lose hope? Our hope is in Christ Jesus. Upon that rock the church was founded, upon him we have hope. He will accomplish His will in us.

Would you trust in His word today?
